Natalie Asper Carnes has been in the field of private service for over fifteen years, beginning as a
nanny for high profile families. In
March 2001 she graduated with merit from The International Butler Academy in
The Netherlands where she polished the edges of her skills and learned many
more. Her training included the
following areas:
English, hotel and
corporate butler service; personal security; hotel and personal
concierge
service; personal assistance; procurement; protocol & etiquette;
wines & cellar management; household & estate management;
staff management and event planning; along with the purchasing and care
of
fine jewelry, cigars, furniture,
rare & antique
artifacts, hand made clothing, jets and luxury cars.
Following her education Natalie worked for an
entrepreneurial family of four in Omaha,
NE as a household manager and
personal assistant. While there she over-saw
a 4,000 square foot, $1.8m addition and interior
renovation with “Smart Home” technology and a walk-in wine cellar. Natalie has a great
feel for household furnishings and has worked with designers, builders and craftsmen
with huge success.
Natalie is a wonderful household
manager who is
both hands on and administrative. She is
detail oriented and is attentive to the personal preferences of
those she
serves, while maintaining an impeccable presentation of the home at all times. She thoroughly enjoys the tasks of household
and personal errands, be it weekly shopping for groceries or major
purchases. She is able to care for fine
furnishings, crystal, china, silver and objects d’art. She is quite adept at minor household repairs
and can oversee the care of a couture wardrobe, be this ladies or gentlemen.

Flowers
have been one of Natalie’s passions and she has learned to make
beautifully
simple European and American style arrangements. Her table
settings are truly prefect as she is able to lay up and serve at the
most
formal of tables, serve drinks, afternoon tea, cocktail and dinner
parties.
Natalie
has a deep love of travel, which has inspired her as she plans wonderfully
relaxing getaways to the most private and interesting places.
At the academy
her final assignment was to 'Plan A Surprise 50th Birthday Party'. She chose a
private island in Fiji as the location, prepared every detail - from
the menu to security - and
transported 26 guests at the cost of $800,000+ for
four days and nights.
Natalie
has extensive staff management, supervisory and training skills.
She is able to deal with all household
accounts, petty cash records, staffing, employment and payroll records. She is completely familiar with dealing with
all trades people, contractors, suppliers and provisioners. Natalie has worked
with chefs, maids,
nannies, butlers, pilots, chauffeurs and all types of domestic staff. She is also able to stand in for many of
them, should the need arise.
Natalie
has a strong foundation in her knowledge of wines, focused mainly on French
varieties. She is able to stock and care
for a cellar and is quite gifted in the art of smelling, tasting and pairing wines
with food. Natalie has learned the rare talent of open a champagne bottle in the Russian tradition of the sabreur.

Since returning to Minneapolis
in 2003, Natalie has utilized her skills and talent in a rather unique
freelance manner. While not finding just
the right full time family to pamper, she has had much success devoting small
blocks of time, albeit daily, weekly or monthly, to several individual
professionals, retirees and families in need of temporary or long-term
assistance. These clients have benefited
immensely, both in their homes and businesses, through her extensive knowledge
and talent without the usual commitment as full time employers. Examples
include: furnishing a 100 year old
home-turned-condo throughout the renovation process; weekly errands
&
shopping; luxury travel & event planning; typical concierge
services;
household management; family crisis management following the death of
the
principal and a runaway teen; staff placement and training; organizing
everything from computer files to kitchen cupboards; research projects;
household
furnishings including furniture, fixtures, appliances and linens;
holiday gifts, entertaining, invitations, greeting cards and
decorations.
Natalie
is an active board member of the National Concierge Association;
an Executive Member of the
International Guild of Professional Butlers (The Butler’s Guild); and beginning
in 2002 she held a seat on the board of directors, elected
as president
2003-2005, for the grass-roots efforts of the International Association of
Household Professionals (IAHP). She is
articulate, well traveled, computer and internet literate and hugely motivated.
